2) Pupils must be on time: buses cannot wait for those who are tardy.
3) Pupils should never stand or play in the road while waiting for the bus. Pupils must not try to get on or off the bus when it is in motion. BUS CONDUCT
Teachers can help the drivers by following these requests.
1) Emphasize no live animals on the bus. If they need to bring animals for an assignment, parents will have to bring them to school Items brought to school for assignments should not be carried in glass containers.
2) When sending home items that can spill - ex.: plants - it would help if children brought a plastic bag to carry them in.
3) There is a Rule - No eating or drinking on the bus. If treats are given near the end of the day, we need to emphasize that it is not to be eaten or chewed on the bus. Drivers will make them throw it away. This rule is mandatory to prevent choking on the bus.
CHANGE OF BUS
The Indian River has adopted a District wide policy that prohibits BUS PASSES. Parents/Guardians who do not want their children to ride their prearranged PM bus will need to make arrangements ahead of time for children to be picked up at school.
ASSERTIVE DISCIPLINE FOR BUS DRIVERS
All bus drivers will implement the Indian River School District's Discipline Procedures developed in the workshops that were for drivers and administrators. The following BUS RULES are posted in each bus:

2. Use acceptable language.
3. Remain seated facing forward when bus is in motion.
